What is a Gladiator??

Back during the Roman Empire, there were no sports. People craved for entertainment, but without sports it was hard to do so. Then in 264 B.C., the sons of a dead Roman emporor decided to have men fight to the death in his honor. This brutal sport was immediatley popular among the people, with large crowds flocking to coliseums to watch. The winner of multiple fights would be treated like a modern day celebrity, earning lots of money. Even though this sport was fatal, Gladiators had a large impact on what sports have become today.
